Everyone Should Learn How To Swim

Everyone Should Learn How To Swim!

Do you know how to keep afloat? My first reason is because it could save your life. My second opinion is because it could save someone else's life and finally because swimming is essential to your safety.

It is clear that swimming could save your life. If you fall off a boat or into the water basically, you need to know how to swim to save your life. You would need to know how to swim and keep afloat to stop yourself from drowning. If you learn how to swim at a young age, this skill will stay with you for the rest of your life. As you get older, you could swim to keep your health up.

Another reason why I believe people should learn to swim is because that skill could save someone else's life. Someone could have fallen off a rock and they probably didn’t know how to swim.  If you don’t learn then you would call 911 and they would come five minutes later but in that time, you could have saved them and pulled them ashore. Another scenario is you don’t know how to sim but think that you should still try, and that means that you could have put yourself in danger as well.

One last reason why people should learn to swim is because it is essential to their safety. According to the National Safe Kids Campaign, drowning is the second leading cause of unintended injury-related death to children ages 1 through to 14 years old.  It is absolutely crucial that all kids know how to swim at a young age. There is water all around us, even if it’s just your bathtub. Making sure that you or are comfortable in and around water is necessary for your safety. Even if you aren’t interested in competitive swimming, making sure you know how to swim should be done as early as possible. Your interest in competitive swimming is just an added benefit.

These are my three reasons why I strongly agree that all children or people should learn how to swim. First because it could save their life. Secondly because it could save someone else's life and finally because swimming is needed for their safety. This is why you should make sure you and your friends all know how to swim.
